FLUID 3D FLOTATION TECHNOLOGY

All of Purap's products use our patented fluid 3D flotation technology. We have the following US patents 9,456,943 9,339,407 9,326,905 9,320,666 8,887,732 8,776,798 8,656,919. In addition, our products are also protected by several international patents.

This technology effectively dissipates and lowers pressure and helps our products prevent sores and pains, and provide a more stable support surface.

All support surfaces - whether they are spring, gel, foam, air, or wire-mesh – try to ‘spring back’ to their original state when you rest on/against them. This puts high pressure on a few contact points where your body meets those support surfaces. These contact points become the source of pain and/or sores.

To avoid these pains, most people either lean one way or the other while sitting or they do the 'left cheek-right cheek butt dance'. Often, this can result in poor posture and back pains.

The patented fluid 3D flotation system fills in uneven body surfaces to maximize the contact area with the body. It dissipates the pressure away from a few contact points to the whole support area. This lowers all pressures, and significantly lowers the peak pressures.

This alleviates pain, helps sores heal faster, and prevents new sores and pains from occurring. Since it eliminates high pressure points, it also doesn’t cut off blood circulation like most support surfaces and thus prevents numbness in thighs and legs.

We have conducted several studies and collected a large amount of pressure data. We focused on measuring peak tissue interface pressures because pressure ulcers form at areas of high pressures.

SKIN INTERFACE TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS

Managing skin temperature is also critical in preventing, reducing or treating pressure ulcers. PURAP’s technology is able to maintain skin interface temperatures in a range that is comfortable to the patient and minimizes pressure ulcer formation or growth.
